Your Business’ Customer Experience Has To Be OUTSTANDING!

That’s why everyone at MOOD: Santa Barbara is dedicated to helping you deliver a complete customer experience by integrating music, voice messaging, digital signage, scent, and audio visual technology to connect with your customers in powerful and productive ways.

Serving Southern Califonia since 1952!

Let’s put that in prespective… In 1952, the following occured:

  • 56 million watch Richard Nixon’s “Checker’s speech” on TV.
  • George VI of England dies; his daughter becomes Elizabeth II (Feb. 6).
  • Britain announces its development of atomic weapons (Oct.).
  • The World Series – NY Yankees d. Brooklyn Dodgers (4-3)
  • Television’s first magazine-format program, the Today Show, debuts on NBC with Dave Garroway hosting.

All that was JUST in 1952!

We are the oldest continually owned independent franchise of Muzak (Now MOOD:) in the Nation.

  • In 1934 Wired Radio introduced the product that was to become synonymous with background music: Muzak, a name Squier formed by combining the words “music” and “Kodak”, one of the world’s best-recognized consumer product brand names of the day.
  • In the 1940’s, as World War II required more and more industrial production, company researchers made a surprising discovery: Muzak could apparently make workers happier and more productive. Muzak patented a system called Stimulus Progression that offered 15-minute blocks of instrumental background music that provided listeners with a subconscious sense of forward movement. When workers listened to these blocks, they got more work done.
  • Not even the White House was immune to the allure of Muzak’s agreeable tunes; the presidential residence was wired for Muzak in 1953 during Dwight Eisenhower’s administration. (He wasn’t the biggest presidential fan, though; Lyndon Johnson actually owned Muzak’s Austin franchise during the 1950s.)

The Start

Muzicraft was founded in 1952 by Mr. David Payne, who at a young 83 years old still assures his customers that their needs come first and that customer service doesn’t come in the form of an email, but a personal visit.  The staff has had to issue a plea to Dave to stay off the ladders and roofs when a customer calls in with a service call; he wants his customers serviced sooner than later and patience doesn’t always improve with age.  It’s this sincere desire and understanding of serving his customers that drives Muzicraft Sound Engineering even in 2016.
